Laurel Hill Forest Lodge offers a very successful two night three day Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze Trek Program. Where a mentor with a thorough knowledge of the area walks with the students, meals are provided and taken to the campsite each evening, allowing more time to become familiar with their packs, navigation, first aid and camp craft. The success rate of this program is very high with most students progressing onto the silver level.
Bronze preliminary Adventurous Journey a mentor walks with the group and meals are provided at the camp site. Minimum group size of twenty for three days and two nights. Bronze qualifier Adventurous Journey a mentor walks with the group but participants carry food and utensils and prepare their own meals.
We have the facilities to support back to back preliminary and qualifier expeditions for bronze and silver students with accommodation and meals supplied at Laurel Hill Forest Lodge on the rest day.

Silver Adventurous Journey

Laurel Hill Forest Lodge staff has a thorough knowledge of the surrounding forests, private channel two-way radio coverage of the entire area, knowledge of the Hume and Hovell Walking Track, and drop off, pickup and back-up facilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning experience for students and staff.
A Silver trek is two nights and three days. As the students are now familiar with their packs, navigation, first aid and camp craft, they carry their food, cooking utensils and prepare all their meals. A mentor guide walks with the group.

Accommodation and meals are available on the night prior to the expedition if the group is unable to arrive before midday on day one.

We have the facilities to support back to back pre and qualifier expeditions for silver students with accommodation and meals supplied at Laurel Hill Forest Lodge on the rest day. Please contact us to discuss dates suitable to you and your students.
