For your convenience, Laurel Hill Forest Lodge has put together a training package in Wilderness First Aid, using the expertise of Stuart Clark, qualified trainer and managing director of All Aid Wild Aid.
Laurel Hill Forest Lodge will provide the venue, accommodation for three nights and all meals.
The Wild Aid program targets situations where life saving support is not immediately available.
Registration close for the October course on 1st September 2009
Maximum 15 participants, course will be postponed if numbers are not achieved.

Day 1 Arrive by 8.30am for a 9.00am start

Spinal Injuries and Spinal Roll techniques
Critical Bleeding, Burns and Shock
Bone and Joint Injuries; soft and hard splinting
Day 2

Secondary Phase Emergency Response Model:
· Casualty Observations
· Physical Examination
· Medical History Documentation
· Spinal Clearance Guidelines
· Critical Incident/Post Traumatic Stress
Spinal lifts and carries
Head Injuries
Chest Injuries
Abdominal Injuries
Wound Management/Facial Injuries
Day 3
(8 scenarios including CPR & night-time scenario)
CPR and Defibrillation (AED) (infant, child, adult)
Management of Choking
Diabetic emergencies
Seizures/Fits
Poisoning
Chest pain, Stroke symptoms
Asthma emergencies
Anaphylaxis / Severe Allergic Reaction
Common Wilderness Illnesses
Day 4 Departing 3pm
(8 scenarios including assessment scenarios)
Bites and Stings
Acute Abdominal pain
Environmental Injury – hypo and hyperthermia
Rescue theory
Triage and Motor Vehicle Accidents
